Handmade with love at Kacha Stones
220mm ~ 8 1/2"
Natural untreated Aguamarine freeforms (around 12mm) with small (around 5mm) freshwater pearls. The handmade toggle is hammered Sterling silver.
The Romans believed aquamarine could protect travellers, especially sailors, and called it the "sailor’s gem." They associated it with Neptune, the god of the sea, and often carved it into talismans. The Greeks believed it was a treasure of the mermaids and a powerful amulet for protection and safe passage over water. Both cultures prized it not only for its beauty but also for its mystical and protective properties.
“Aquamarine provides a shielding property for the aura and subtle bodies. It is a “stone of courage”. It enhances one's ability for rapid intellectual response and the assimilation of knowledge.” Melody, Love is in the Earth.
Since 1996, Kacha Stones has specialised in ethically mined crystals. Ethical sourcing is important not only for the environment and mining communities but also for preserving the crystal's energy. Blasting a hole in the earth and collecting the rubble does not produce the best crystals.
Most crystal shops now use the phrase 'ethically mined,' but this is only possible when buying directly from the source. For 30 years, we have worked directly with miners from the icy slopes of the Himalayas to the arid deserts of Namibia.
