Ethically hand-mined Brandberg Quartz

40mm ~ 1 1/2" ~ 10 grams

A water pocket, but it's not easy to find, which is why I marked the location. Tilt gently from side to side, and your eye will be drawn to the movement. This enhydro is for someone who enjoys a challenge :)

It's no wonder this crystal looks and feels ancient. Over 120 million years ago, a single mass of granite punched through the Earth's crust into the heart of what is now the Namib Desert in northern Namibia. Today, this mountain of rock, the Brandberg Massif, towers over the 55-million-year-old desert below. This ancient geology means Brandberg enhydros contain water over a million years old.

Kacha Stones is the original ethically mined crystal shop, trading since 1996. Ethical sourcing is important not only for the environment and mining communities, but also for preserving the crystal's energy. Blasting a hole and collecting the remains does not produce the best crystals.

Nearly all crystal shops now use 'ethically mined', but you only know where and how it was mined if you buy from the miners. For nearly 30 years, we have worked directly with miners from the icy slopes of the Himalayas to the arid deserts of Namibia.
