A beautifully rich blue, 8 x 6mm, Australian Black Opal. Solid Opal, NOT a doublet ot triplet (opal veneer). It has predominantly green fire. Handcrafted in a Sterling silver flower design. A one-off piece.
The most distinguishing feature of Australian opal is its incredible play of colours. This phenomenon, known as "opalescence," results in a stunning display of iridescent colours that can change when viewed from different angles. The colours can include blues, greens, reds, and even flashes of orange and purple.
