Grape agate is one of the most soothing crystals to hold while meditating or just to relax.
Grape Agate is a beautiful, relatively new crystal from the Mamuju Area of West Sulawesi, Indonesia. The Indonesian government only allowed its export in 2016.
The name 'grape agate' stuck as a marketing term, but these are not agate. The most accurate name would be Botryoidal Amethyst (from the Greek word “botrus,” which means a bunch of grapes). Whatever we call this, these grapes have a stunning, sparkling lustre. With magnification, each individual "grape" has a crystallised drusy surface.
“Very calming, Grape Chalcedony cleanses perception, identifying what is important, helping you sit in stillness. Composed of tiny spheres naturally bonded together, comforting Grape Chalcedony is perfect for creating a peaceful community... opening your heart to peaceful cooperation. It draws together like-minded people who work for the good of the planet. A stone of inspiration that encourages trust, Grape Chalcedony facilitates finding your karmic strengths.” Judy Hall.
Since 1996, Kacha Stones has specialised in ethically mined crystals. Ethical sourcing is important not only for the environment and mining communities, but also for preserving the crystal's energy. Blasting a hole in the earth and collecting the remains does not produce the best crystals.
Most crystal shops use 'ethically mined', but this is only possible by buying directly from miners. For 30 years, we have worked directly with miners from the icy slopes of the Himalayas to the arid deserts of Namibia.
