Ethically hand-mined Brandberg Quartz
130 x 80 x 50mm ~ 5" ~ 600 grams
At 600g, this is a very large Brandberg. This size Brandberg is rare. How rare? How many Brandberg points (single crystals, not clusters), over half a kilo, do you ever remember seeing? Then self-healing so complete you can't see anything left to heal. No old damage or dings, faces, sides, base... everything perfectly healed.
Crystal sellers love the word 'rare', but if you can find another 10 after 5 minutes on Google, it's not actually rare. You won't find 10 of this crystal.
I hope the pictures capture something of an incredibly well 'self-preserved', refined and truly ancient life-form this is. I've felt a lot of very old crystals over the last 30 years, but this is the first time I thought it worth mentioning.
“In crystal, we have a pure evidence of the existence of a formative life principle, and although in spite of everything we cannot understand the life of crystals - it is still a living being." Nikola Tesla.
"Brandberg Amethyst is a stunning and unique variety of Quartz crystal found only in Namibia, Africa - a mystic blend of amethyst, clear, and smoky quartz together in one exceedingly high-vibrational crystal. Brandberg Amethyst attunes to pure consciousness and is the most versatile and multi-dimensional healing tool on the planet, unparalleled in its beauty, energy and light.” Judy Hall.
The Brandberg Mountains have quartz lattices 132-135 million years old. These mountains are renowned for their ancient rock paintings and engravings. The Herero people named Brandberg Omukuruvaro, 'Mountain of the Gods'.
Kacha Stones is the original ethically mined crystal shop, trading since 1996. Ethical sourcing is important not only for the environment and mining communities, but also for preserving the crystal's energy. Blasting a hole in the earth and collecting the rubble does not produce the best crystals.
Most crystal shops use 'ethically mined', but this is only possible by buying directly from miners. For 30 years, we have worked directly with miners from the icy slopes of the Himalayas to the arid deserts of Namibia.
