Ethically hand-mined by Kacha Stones (Stephen), near Talley Abbey in West Wales (UK) in approximately 2000.

28mm ~ 1 1/8" ~ 9 grams

Gold on a milky quartz (rough rock, not fully formed crystals) is available but rare. Gold in fully-formed, clear quartz crystals like this is beyond rare. This Welsh crystal has two tiny gold nuggets, and thanks to them being just under the surface, they're exceptionally easy to see.

The crystal is in perfect condition. The indentation near the tip is growth-interference - a smooth indentation caused by another crystal during growth.

Though a humble little crystal by every factor except it contains gold, is nonetheless exceptional due to the point being in excellent condition and the gold being unusually visible.

Only 33 were ever mined (in 28 years), and some were submitted to an assay office for X-ray fluorescence inspection to confirm the presence of gold. Proof provided on request.

"Gold symbolises the purity of the spiritual aspect of 'All That Is'. It is symbolic of spirituality and development in the realm of complete understanding. It emits energy that prompts one to allow beauty to come forth from the inner being. It helps one improve one's character through learning, lessening the trauma associated with gaining knowledge. It assists one in activating, mobilising, and actualising the self's intrinsic potential.

If one is fortunate enough to become an Earth-keeper for a quartz crystal containing gold, the uses are extensive. The properties of gold and the properties of quartz crystal are combined and produce 'dynamite' results." Melody, Love is in the Earth.

When a mineral is found in quartz, it is amplified, producing a more potent and accessible frequency than when it is alone; even tiny inclusions in quartz are powerfully amplified. Because quartz can interact with the mind (some Native American tribes called quartz 'the brain cells of Mother Earth’), it can now be 'programmed', meaning directed and used with intention, along with quartz.

Kacha Stones is the original ethically mined crystal shop, trading since 1996. Ethical sourcing is important not only for the environment and mining communities, but also for preserving the crystal's energy.

Blasting a hole in the earth and collecting the remains does not produce the best crystals. I mined this myself with nothing more than a trowel.
